An awful racket

There was a huge amount of banging and exploding outside our office window this morning. Everyone ignored it, which made me think it couldn't be gun fire, but when I looked outside the street was filled with smoke.

And then, as the air cleared, a lovely bride appeared!

Apparently they explode strips of bangers and fireworks at the end of wedding ceremonies in China. Much better than throwing rubbish bits of coloured paper, I think.
